Club sponsors to mark championship win with a special treat for fans

FANS of newly crowned champions AFC Sudbury are going to receive another treat thanks to the club’s main sponsor.

Every single supporter which attends the club’s final game of the season will get 40% off new spectacles purchased at the town's opticians Wardale Williams, which has sponsored the club for the past two seasons.

The kind gesture is being made to mark AFC Sudbury’s championship winning season.

Amanda Skinner, practice manager at Wardale Williams, said: “We are very proud sponsors of the football club and we were delighted to see them clinch the title last weekend. We wanted to do something to mark the occasion and after discussing possibilities with the club we decided it would be nice to give something back to the fans.”

Up to 1,000 spectators are expected at the Wardale Williams Stadium on Saturday for the game against Harlow Town where the Ryman Division One North trophy will be paraded. Every single supporter which comes through the turn styles will be given a discount voucher to spend on new spectacles.

Richard Instance, Club director, said: “Wardale Williams have always been very supportive of the club and now they are supporting the fans as well. This is a very kind gesture to make as it is a very significant discount being offered and we are extremely grateful.”

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3pm and the trophy will be paraded at the end of the game.
